Use the CASIO FX7400G to draw the graph of the inequality y x2 > 1

To use the graphing calculator to accomplish this task, you must transform the inequality from its present state to the following format:

To this end, we transform the given inequality as follows:

  1. Turn on the CASIO FX7400G.

  2. Use your cursor arrows to highlight the GRAPH menu and press or just press when at the main menu screen.
  3. Press (the more key).
  4. Press (the more key).
  5. Press ( Y > ).
  6. In the Y1 slot enter the expression 1 ™ X2 and press (Make sure no other Y-slot is highlighted, i.e. selected for graphing.)
  7. Press (V-Window)
  8. Set up the viewing window to the calculatorŪs default values by pressing (INIT)
  9. Press
  10. Press   (DRAW)

The graph of the inequality appears on the screen of the calculator.
