Casio TEAMS Grant Algebra Lessons XVI
Use the CASIO FX7400G to draw the feasibility region of the system of inequalities
given below and find the integer values of the vertices:
y < 4
y < -2 x + 12
y > -2/3 x + 4
- Turn on the CASIO FX7400G.

- Use your cursor arrows to highlight the GRAPH menu and press

when at the main menu screen.

- In the Y1 slot enter the expression 4 and press

- In the Y2 slot enter the expression -2 X + 12 and press

Press ( Y > ).
In the Y3 slot enter the expression -2/3 X + 4 and press

(Make sure no other Y-slot is highlighted, i.e. selected for graphing.)

Set up the viewing window as follows:
Xmin: 0 Ymin: -4.6 max : 7.8 max : 4.6 scl : 1 scl : 1

(DRAW)
The graph of the inequality appears on the screen of the calculator.

(Plot)
Use your cursor arrows to move the "cross hairs" to the vertices of the shaded
image on the calculatorŪs screen and note the x and y values displayed at the
bottom of the screen.
My answers are: (6, 0), (4, 4), and (0, 4).

or delete it by pressing

Turn off the CASIO FX7400G.
