CASIO REWARDS PROGRAM LEAVES BIG IMPRESSION ON MIAMI-DADE SCHOOLS ___________
Miami-Dade County Schools Put Educational Technology in Student’s Hands With Reward Points From Casio ______
DOVER, NJ, May 5, 2005 – CASIO, Inc., a leader in consumer electronics, today announces that it will provide more than 2,500 calculators to the Miami-Dade County School District, free of charge, as part of a unique education rewards program. The Casio Educator Rewards Program was announced in April 2004 and allows schools or districts to accumulate points when they purchase Casio educational products. Those points can then be redeemed for free Casio products. The calculators acquired by Miami-Dade schools represent the largest number of points redeemed to date.
The Casio Educator Rewards Program rewards schools and school districts for purchasing Casio educational products. At a time when school and district budgets continue to face increased downward pressure and scrutiny, the program helps ease some of the financial pressures that many areas are currently facing.
The 2,500 free calculators received by Miami-Dade are enough calculators to supply several schools or to provide to students during the state exams (FCATs). The program is part of Casio’s continued effort of giving back to the school communities it serves, helping to ease financial pressures, and reaching larger numbers of teachers and students with technology.
“Being able to provide Miami-Dade with such a large number of free calculators is a reward for the schools and a reward for Casio as well,” says Matthew Weiss, Director of Marketing, Calculators, for Casio, Inc. “It is a perfect example of what we strive to do on a daily basis – offer schools innovative technology choices and additional programs that help them maximize their technology budgets. It’s a win-win program and an overall effort that we take very seriously.”
The Casio Educator Rewards program is currently available to schools nationwide. Details of the program can be found at www.casioeducation.com/rewards.
